Built Around a More
Complete Approach to Dental Care
Bridges & Canals was created around a simple belief: good dentistry means seeing the whole picture — what is causing the problem, what can be preserved, and what will serve the patient best over time.

Our Beginning
It Started With a Simple Question: What Does Better Dental Care Look Like?
Dental care should not feel like a series of disconnected procedures.
When Bridges & Canals was founded in 2014, the idea was to create a practice where a patient's dental needs could be considered beyond the immediate procedure in front of them.
A painful tooth, a missing tooth, a damaged smile or a long-standing dental concern can each require very different decisions. Sometimes relief from pain. Sometimes restoring function. Sometimes replacing what has been lost. And sometimes the best outcome comes from addressing a problem before it becomes more complex.
The practice was built to support that continuity — a place where preventive care, restorative dentistry and more complex treatment could exist within the same philosophy as a patient's needs changed over time.

Founder
Dr. Nirupa V
MDS, Prosthodontics & Implant Dentistry
Dr. Nirupa's work is where precision meets artistry. As an MDS Prosthodontist, her work spans removable and fixed prostheses, veneers, dental implants and implant-supported prostheses. Every restoration is designed to restore function, comfort, and a natural-looking smile.
Looking Beyond the Individual Tooth
For Dr. Nirupa, restorative dentistry extends beyond simply placing a crown, veneer, or implant. Every restoration needs to work as part of the larger smile—fitting comfortably into the bite, relating naturally to the surrounding teeth, and functioning well over time.
This comprehensive approach is essential in complex restorative and full-mouth cases, where multiple elements need to be carefully planned together rather than treated in isolation.
Clinical Focus
A Different Eye for Detail
As an MDS Prosthodontist with a PhD in Fine Arts, Dr. Nirupa brings both scientific precision and an artist's eye to every smile.
Her understanding of proportion, symmetry, form, and balance adds another layer to the finer aesthetic decisions involved in rebuilding a smile. These subtle details influence whether dental work simply looks treated or feels naturally part of the smile.
Co-Founder
Dr. Anand S
MDS, Endodontics
Dr. Anand's approach to endodontic care is centred on preserving natural teeth through precise, evidence-based treatment. With over two decades of clinical experience, he is known for his meticulous technique, gentle manner, and calm, patient-first approach.
From routine root canal treatments to complex endodontic cases, he combines careful diagnosis with thoughtful treatment planning to achieve predictable, long-term outcomes. His reassuring approach and commitment to saving teeth whenever possible have earned the trust of generations of families across Chennai.
He has handled difficult root canal cases where careful assessment and technical precision are essential in determining whether a compromised tooth can continue to function predictably.
His approach is methodical: identify the problem's source, treat the infection carefully, and consider what the tooth will need afterwards to continue functioning well.

What Patients Often Value
Patience. Clear explanations. A meticulous approach to difficult cases.

One Shared Philosophy
Complementary Expertise, Under One Philosophy
Some dental problems do not fit neatly into one specialty.
A tooth may be treatable, but is retaining it the right long-term decision? If it cannot be retained, what should replace it? And if several teeth are involved, how will those decisions affect the bite, appearance and function of the mouth as a whole?
Having endodontic and prosthodontic expertise within the same practice allows those questions to be considered together when they need to be.
Dr. Anand brings the perspective of treating and retaining compromised teeth. Dr. Nirupa brings the perspective of restoring function and planning what comes next when teeth need to be rebuilt or replaced.
Together, those perspectives allow treatment decisions to begin with the outcome rather than simply the procedure.
Not two specialties working separately, but one shared approach to long-term dental care.
Our Approach
What Guides the Way We Practise
Understand Before Treating
Every recommendation begins with understanding the concern, the available options and what each option means for the patient.
Preserve Where It Makes Sense
When a natural tooth can predictably continue to function well, preservation is considered before replacement.
Plan Beyond the Immediate Problem
Function, comfort, aesthetics and long-term oral health are considered together when treatment is planned.
A Practice That Has Grown With Its Patients
Since 2014, Bridges & Canals has grown alongside the individuals and families it cares for — and with that, the range of dental needs the practice sees has grown too.
